December went by in a flash, just as it does every year. We did the traditional gingerbread house-making party with Grant's parents. Grant always comes up with some great idea every year. This year he made a nice front porch for his house complete with a stone front, and even a gummy bear nativity scene on top! He gave it away to one of his home teaching families--I think the kids really enjoyed it.
We headed to the cabin in CO for Christmas this year and were surprised by the lack of snow! We pulled in and saw brown grass everywhere! We got a tiny bit of snow one day, just enough to cover the ground. Lydia had a fun time wandering around outside and DID NOT want to come in, whether mommy was done or not.
Dad and Grant worked on getting all the snowmobiles up and running and ready for the Brady crowd that was coming after Christmas.
When Lydia saw Grant drive by on the snowmobile, she pointed and said "Brrmmm, brrmmm!" Needless to say she was anxious to get on one herself.
Lydia LOVED riding around. Whenever we got off one, she would walk over to another and want to ride again.

Although the snow was sparse at the cabin, just a little higher up the mountain there was plenty of it. Just perfect for cutting a tree, right?
Once we scouted out the tree we wanted, we sent Grant up first to pave the way through the deep snow. Poor Grant. :)

Lydia stayed with Grandma and watched the entertainment from below.
Somehow, after three years of missing the tree cutting adventures, I was still the one to haul the tree down the mountain. Some things never change. :)

Her favorites were the red and white balls. Can you tell?

Once she got the hanging-on-the-tree thing down, she set out to decorate the rest of the room.
Lydia's letter to Santa. Notice she helped herself to one of his cookies.
Christmas morning Lydia found this cute farm set that Santa left for her!
She was a big fan of the candy bowl. Ironically, though, she enjoyed unwrapping it all more than eating it.
Lydia loved her Aunt DonnaLyn. They were pals the entire time.
Although it was a quiet Christmas, with most of the Bradys coming a few days later, it was nice to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet at the cabin (by the way, this is a typical Lydia pose--blanket in arms, tassel in hand, strategically placed on her nose, perfect for sniffing. There's something about those tassels she just loves).

Lydia loved decorating the tree, especially with the help of Grandma and Aunt DonnaLyn.
